Who we are

Information we collect

We collect minimal information by default:

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp, response code) for security and operational purposes. These logs are typically retained for about 30 days.

Cookies. CentPinch sets one functional cookie that remembers your light or dark theme choice. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and deals are useful and to measure how often affiliate clicks succeed; GA4 sets its own first-party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*). IP addresses are anonymized before storage and we have disabled Google Signals (cross-device, ads-personalization identifiers) on the property. See “Cookies” below for details and how to opt out.

Affiliate tracking. Outbound clicks pass through our /go/ redirect, which records a server-side affiliate-click event with the deal id, retailer, and final destination URL. The retailer — not us — may set their own cookies when you land on their site. We do not receive your personally-identifying information from those clicks; we only receive aggregate commission reports.

Email signups. If you submit your email through a signup form, we store the address along with the page source, the submitting browser's user agent (truncated), and a one-way salted hash of your IP for abuse detection. The address is also forwarded to MailerLite, our email service provider, which maintains the deliverability list and sends our occasional newsletter on our behalf.

Comments. Comments are disabled site-wide. We do not collect user-submitted content other than the inputs you provide on signup forms or contact emails.

What we don't collect

We do not require account creation to read the site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

We do not run targeted advertising on this site.

Cookies

Functional. CentPinch sets a single first-party cookie that remembers your light or dark theme choice. It is not shared with anyone.

Analytics. Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_GZYRB7MKNV on this property) to count unique visitors and measure on-site engagement. We have configured the property with IP anonymization on and Google Signals off, so no ads-personalization identifiers or cross-device profiles are built from your visits.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install Google's opt-out browser add-on or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. The site continues to function normally without analytics; only our own aggregate metrics are affected.

Third-party services

We rely on the following third parties, whose own privacy practices govern their handling of your data:

Hosting. Our site host's privacy policy applies to server-level data such as request logs.

CDN / DNS. Cloudflare provides content delivery and DNS; their privacy policy applies to traffic routed through their network.

Analytics. Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) is used for aggregate, pseudonymized site analytics. Google's privacy policy applies to data collected by GA4.

Email service provider. MailerLite (UAB Mailerlite, Lithuania) hosts our subscriber list and delivers our newsletter when you opt in via a signup form. MailerLite's privacy policy applies to data they process on our behalf.

Affiliate networks. Amazon Associates and the other networks listed on our affiliate disclosure page.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, request its correction, or request its deletion. Because we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, requests are typically straightforward to fulfill. Send requests to [email protected] from the email address you'd like the request linked to.

Data retention

Server logs: about 30 days.

Cookies: until expiry or browser clear.

Google Analytics 4: visitor-level event data is retained for 14 months (Google's minimum non-aggregated retention); aggregate reports persist indefinitely. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.

Email subscriber list: we keep your email on the MailerLite list until you unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of every email or until we remove the address as part of normal list hygiene (typically after long-term inactivity). Unsubscribed addresses are retained in suppression for compliance purposes (so we do not re-send to opt-outs) and are not used for any other purpose.

Email correspondence: kept until the matter is closed, plus 12 months for reference.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The “last updated” date below indicates the most recent change. Material changes will be summarized at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
